The apartment is 160 m2, two floors, one floor for sleeping/working/ bathing (two large rooms, two small rooms), the other floor for living, cooking, dining. High ceiling, exposed beams.
You enter the building house through your own private entrance and staircase. First you arrive at the floor with the master bedroom with a south-facing balcony and three more rooms. The upper floor is a large and light living space with an open kitchen. Looking out the window you will notice the Amsterdam sign with the Saint Andrew's crosses on the building across a small square with trees and other greenery. It used to be the entrance building of the former main hospital of Amsterdam. Now it houses privately owned apartments with front yards. The square is also a small playground. Behind the gate you will find the former hospital area, the ‘WG-terrein’, a car-free oasis in the middle of the hectic city. It has another playground, childcare and a general practice center but also artist’s studio’s and apartments, a small theater and a restaurant with a terrace. The neighborhood is called the Helmersbuurt, it is relatively quiet and just outside the city centre. It is close to the recently opened De Hallen complex (food, shops & movies). The Vondelpark, the Leidseplein with the main theater – Stadsschouwburg – and the main musea (Stedelijk Museum, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum) are also within walking distance and so are the Concertgebouw and pop temple Paradiso.
No smoking and this apartment is not for sharing.
