What is an independent living space?

The definition of self-contained living space is a living space with:

• One's own (lockable) front door and house number;
• A private bathroom (with at least a toilet and shower);
• One's own cooking facility (with a minimum of 1 meter sink with kitchen cabinet and a grounded outlet for the fridge)

As soon as one of the above facilities has to be shared, it is a case of non-self-contained living space.
